Festive Fun at The Kingsmills Hotel

In Scotland we love the festive Christmas season, and we go all out to make a sparkle and shine for anyone who comes here to spend that magical time of year with us. At the Kingsmills we are no different and we get our excited heads on very early to make sure we have planned everything down to the absolute finest detail. Our stunning hotel is noted as being host to some of the best seasonal events, as well as early bird offers and deals throughout the entire Christmas break.

Family Fun and Enjoyment

Christmas festivities in Inverness are also designed for kids to love and enjoy. You won’t want to miss out of their faces when you see the huge and colourful firework displays that we put on, or miss out on Christmas lunch at the Kingsmills Hotel with our exquisite dinging experience. The festivities start very early in our Christmas Countdown, usually beginning in November.

Come for Christmas to enjoy the festivities at the Kingsmills Hotel and you might not want to leave! There is something magical about the atmosphere in Inverness and the Scottish Highlands. We look forward to our winter schedule every single year because we know that our guests will have the time of their lives at our festive party nights, which include dinner. Take a look through our new festive brochure and see what catches your eye, but make sure you get your skates on and book your places soon, as our events and rooms always book up fast this time of year.

See in the New Year in Style

Over Christmas and New Year we are hosting Celtic bands, folk rock bands, a Hogmanay Gala dinner, a festive pantomime, Ceilidh Dancing and a host of other fun-filled experiences.  And it doesn’t matter if you are a resident guest or not because we have special Gala dinners for non-residents too. You can enjoy a five course dinner, with a traditional Ceilidh band, and a glass of Champers to kick off the New Year in style. Plus, you get to try the famous Haggis dish, which if you never tried before, is an experience to remember, and it is served with our spectacular ‘neeps and tatties’. Mind, you, if you do fancy staying over and not forking out for the taxi home or driving your own car, then don’t forget you can stay for just an extra £30.00 if you are attending our gala!

Get your Summer Body in Shape with our Leisure Club offer!

So, you know about frequent flyer points, membership privileges, club card points and other ‘reward’ and incentive programmes, but here at the Kingsmills we like to offer something special and out of the ordinary to our customers. You don’t have to be a frequent stayer, but if you are, then you will definitely benefit from it! We want to offer you the chance to join our leisure club for just £99 per person when you join in May or June of 2014. That probably seems too good to be true, but believe us, it’s true!

Opening Hours and Facilities

Our leisure club is open from 6 in the morning to 10 at night on Monday to Friday and 7 in the morning until 10 at night on Weekends, so you can get the full beneficial use of every facility, including the swimming pool. You can enjoy a relaxing time in our sauna, and we have a steam room, offering complimentary towels. How about an ‘aquacise’ class, where you can exercise in water and get fit while you float. Once you have finished in the pool you can experience some personal training with our tailored fitness programmes just for you.

Discounts and member benefits

Oh, we should also mention, as a member of our leisure club you will also get discounted meals when you stay at the Kingsmills and there are also plenty member’s social events held at various times throughout the year. We offer you a chance to try it out for 6 weeks so that you can try before you buy, so to speak. It’s only fair that you should be able to test something out before you commit to it and this is no different. If you like it, you can choose membership options. If you are a frequent visitor to our happy hotel you will know that we refurbished our coffee lounge, too and we serve a huge selection of refreshments and snacks. Give it a go, it’s a chance that is too good to miss!

Every Father Loves a Round of Golf

Well, most of them do, anyway and with Father’s Day just around the corner you might want to start planning your perfect Father’s Day gift. How about giving your Father the treat of a stay and play golf weekend at a 4 start luxury hotel break in Inverness? It’s a weekend he will never forget and something to look back on as a memorable holiday. In 2014 Father’s day falls on the 15th June. Normally it would be later in the month but this year the 1st is also a Sunday, so Father’s Day falls earlier than normal. Make sure you don’t forget! It still gives you plenty of time to book a weekend break for your Dad and to sort out a really cool present for him.

Treat your Dad to a relaxing weekend break

At the Kingsmills Hotel we cater for all types of leisure and relaxing breaks, as well as those business trips that take us away from our home. We like to consider our hotel a home from home and make our guests feel extremely welcome and very comfortable.  There is a select handful of golf courses in the area that your father can choose from to play, or play them all! After his round of golf he can enjoy the spa and swimming facilities that the hotel offers and you can even buy him a membership so that he can benefit from the 25% food discount! That’s a heck of a present and he will be very pleased with it, plus it sure beats the tie or slippers idea!

Golfing and more

There is a lovely choice of links golf courses in the Highlands, including the Nairn, Royal Dornoch, and Castle Stuart.  Our affiliation with all the golf courses will give your dad access to any special deals and offers.   When your father isn’t playing golf he can take a stroll around the old city and view the historical architecture.  Even though it’s Father’s Day, there is no reason why he can’t take his better half along to enjoy the weekend together either. If his ‘better half’ doesn’t like golf there’s the leisure and spa area and plenty of other sporting or shopping things to do within easy reach of our hotel.

For whisky lovers all over the world, Saturday 17th May 2014 is a special day, for it is none other than ‘World Whisky Day’. A global celebration of the ‘Water of life’, World Whisky Day is a convenient excuse for a whole range of whisky themed events and parties. The concept is the brainchild of young Scottish entrepreneur Blair Bowman who launched the phenomenon as a Twitter hashtag #worldwhiskyday, while still a student in 2011. Since then it has gone from strength to strength and become a truly international event. This year there are planned whisky tastings, celebratory meals and ceilidh gigs from Scotland, Germany, Norway, Poland, Texas and Japan, among others. If you are going to any of these events send us your pictures or share your experiences with us.

Single Malt Scotch whisky truly is a wonderful thing, so why not join us for a dram at the Kingsmills Hotel on World Whisky Day?

For whisky lovers visiting Inverness, our luxurious hotel is conveniently situated close to many of Scotland’s most famous distilleries. Our distilleries are a proud heritage in their own right; handsome buildings set in stunning surroundings where the craft of making whisky has been practiced since the Nineteenth Century. Within easy reach of Inverness are the active distilleries of Glen Ord and Tomatin; and a short drive north on the A9 will take you to the Dalmore distillery near Invergordon, as well as the world famous Glenmorangie. With regular tours organised throughout the day it is possible to visit all five distilleries within one day trip, although committed malt aficionados would of course have to make sure they had a designated driver! Our local distilleries create malt whisky according to the ‘Highland’ style. If you have more time and wanted to head east along the coast you will find the historic Speyside area, with its own rich traditions and distinctive whisky style. With all these distilleries there is a large choice of whiskeys to choose from, so please share with us your favourite tipple and tell us why!
