The recent hot weather all over the Inverness area culminated in an amazing electrical storm last week.  Several places in the town were affected by the storms including the local radio station MFR where the presenters said they could hear the thunder through their sound proof studio! The Kingsmills Hotel had some gathering puddles as the drains tried to cope with the deluge of rain.  Soon the skies cleared again and we were in for more dry weather and comfortable temperatures.  In the heat, the best place to be is the Kingsmills Hotel with our air conditioned Lounge, Conservatory and Restaurant.

Work begins on the "Kings Club"

Work began on the 37 bedroomed "Kings Club" on Tuesday 26 May 2009, so far there have been lots of portacabins unloaded to the site which is across the car park from the hotel where the villas were.  As this is a brand new build away from the main hotel the work will be able to go on without interruption to our residents in the Kingsmills Hotel and after approximately 12 months there will be a luxury hotel called the "Kings Club" with its own reception, lounge and dining area for guests to enjoy.

Now that the better weather has arrived – some of our guests have decided that they want off the treadmill to run in the local area and they have been asking for running routes from the hotel.

So in response, the leisure club team got together and created 3 different running routes for guest to enjoy from 1 mile to 3.5 miles, a longer route is to be developed over the coming weeks.  

You can get out and run in the surroundings of the hotel, all you need to is ask for a copy of the routes from our leisure club team who are on hand from 0600 until 2200 hrs.

Are you looking for swimming lessons in Inverness – then the team in the Kingsmills Leisure club are able to help, the Swim Teach Association (STA) qualified instructors in the leisure club are able to offer one to one or one to three lessons to all ages and abilities – so if you’re keen to get your children or yourself confident in the water why not call the leisure club on 01463 257109 or email leisureclub@kingsmillshotel.com to find out more.

During the summer the instructors will be offering week blocks of of half hour lessons, each block of lessons aims to reach an achievable goal. You’ll even receive an STA certificate and badge once you have reached your goals.

Tourism in the Highlands is booming as British holidaymakers opt to spend their Easter break in the UK, it was revealed last night.
Visitor numbers are said to be much higher than the same time last year – and tourism chiefs are confident the trend will continue.

The number of weddings at the hotel this year has reached an all time high and its all down to word of mouth!  With weddings taking place at the hotel for 6 – 80 people taking place throughout the summer months.  You can get married at the hotel - some couples are being very optimistic and have chosen to get married in the gardens (weather permitting)!  Or you can choose to have your ceremony elsewhere and have your sumptious wedding breakfast at the hotel!!  You’ll certainly have a day to remember when you choose the Kingsmills hotel as the venue for your wedding.

Sunday Lunch

From April 2009 – October 2009 you can take lunch from a 3 course table d’hote menu every Sunday from 12.30pm.
